Come join us for a week-long photography experience and explore some of Cuba’s most incredible, picturesque places. You will be guided by yours truly and my team.

You will have the chance to photograph the city like you have never seen before and be guided through every step of the way. Escaping to my favorite places to photograph the city, rural landscapes, and surrounding areas. This 5 day workshop is designed to master your photography skills and awaken your creative process. It will be hands on and Edin will be with you every step of the way covering composition, camera settings, chasing light, and much more.

Itinerary:

October 11
You will arrive in Miami International Airport, head to the Residence Inn or The Standard Hotel (there right by each other) in Miami Beach. We will start off by having a meet and greet at 6:30pm at The Lido Restaurant & Bayside Grill, located at The Standard Hotel in Belle Isle. We’ll enjoy a cold beverage while Jaci will be going over the itinerary for the next five days, overlooking the beautiful inter-coastal waterway. Bring your camera, the deck is a great spot for the sunset!

Day 1: We’ll meet at Miami International Airport the following morning with Jaci and together fly out to José Martí International Airport in Havana. We’ll be picked up by a private taxi service and arrive at the Casa Particular, our home away from home for the next 5 days. We will hold a Meet and Greet with Edin after settling in and head into Old Havana for an afternoon walk and an authentic Cuban meal for lunch. It will be followed by beautiful sunset shoot over the famous and historic Malcón, where the fisherman and locals walk. Dinner will be provided back at the Casa.

Day 2: Wake up and eat breakfast then head into Havana for a walking tour of city center. The tour will include visiting the Plaza de la Revolution, Jose Martí Memorial, and National Capital. This will be awesome street photography opportunities and also to explore the old historic buildings. We’ll break for lunch at a local spot in the city, hang out after to explore some new areas. We’ll go catch the sunset followed by a home-made dinner back at Casa.

Day 3: Eat Breakfast then take a trip to the rural countryside for the opportunity to capture a cigar farm and vegetable farm. We will be walking through beautiful landscapes and learning about how the farms began, a chance to engage with the workers and locals. We’ll stop for lunch and head back to Casa for a post processing session followed by Dinner.

Day 4: We’ll wake up for a special sunrise shoot. Head back to Casa for breakfast and head to Cuba’s oldest boxing club, Rafael Trejo Boxing Gym, to photograph some boxers and fights. This spot is an open air gym where Olympians have trained, it will be a fantastic opportunity to get some close ups of the boxers. We will stop for lunch before heading back to Casa for a post processing session. We’ll then partake in a fantastic homemade dinner in the Casa.

Day 5: Eat breakfast and head to Old Havana, where we will be walking thru local markets and have amazing photo opportunities through out. The Sabato de la Rumba, Hemingway’s Daiquiri and mojito bar, famous vintage cars will all be great subject matter. We’ll be sure to stop for a nice lunch break and head to the famous Partagas, the famous cigar factory, for a chance to take some snaps at this world renown spot! We’ll head back to the Casa and post process for the rest of the afternoon. We’ll head to the famous Malecón at a different spot for a beautiful sunset and have our farewell dinner to celebrate our last night in Cuba!

Day 6: Depart early in the morning to José Martí International Airport.

Whats Included??

The fee for the workshop, Visa, round trip airfare, shared accommodations, transportation in the city, breakfast and dinner, and entrance fees to above mentioned spots. Lunch is the only meal NOT included.

What is NOT included:
Additional events or museums that are not mentioned in the itinerary, tips, lunches, alcohol beverages, internet access, phone, airport taxes upon departing Havana (25 CUCS/ $30.00 USD), Travel, health, and medical insurance.

Price includes shared accommodations. If you’d like a room all to yourself, we have a single room supplement charge.

Travel insurance is a must! This should cover your medical emergencies, lost luggage. Make sure its valid in Cuba too. Camera equipment insurance is a good thing to have, though not required but highly suggested.

If you want to bring a non-photographer friend or spouse, we’ll offer a 30% discount for that second person and you can also share the same room accommodation.
You will need to arrive in Miami the day before the flight takes off if you are traveling from afar. We have group rates at 2 suggested hotels for you, though you are not required to stay there. Accommodations and travel costs are not included in Miami.

What You Will Need:
Camera, wide-angle and telephoto lenses, laptop, external hard drives, Lightroom installed, tripod, cleaning cloths, comfortable camera bag, and flash.

Really good walking shoes! Dress comfortable, as we will be walking a lot and weather will be on the warmer side.

Cash is the only currency excepted on the island, your US credit cards and traveler checks will NOT work. We will be exchanging dollars for the Cuban currency called CUC once we are there. Remember, this is an all inclusive tour, the only thing you will be spending your cash on is lunch, souvenirs, and tips.

What You Don’t Need:
Please, leave your photographer vest at home. The last thing you want is to be seen as an American tourist or photojournalist. You want to blend in as much as possible, as this will benefit your street photography shots and make you less intimidating when asking a local for their photo.

$3,995.00 Cost for Trip. Flights to Miami is NOT included, accommodations in Miami, NOT included. Only airfare to and from Cuba departing from Miami, Florida.

$500 NON refundable deposit is do to save your spot. Balance is due 3 weeks prior to the event.
