Shot of the day by Gregor Skoberne

Living in the mountains for one month. It was shot with Nikon D5100 and Nikkor 18-105 lens.
As a hobby landscape photographer, I have always wanted to photograph mountains. In order to do that, you have to spend a significant amount of time in the mountains. It’s best to climb them early in the morning, because of the optimal light and spectacular sunrises. This is why I decided to go and live in the mountains for a longer period of time.

While thinking about how much time I should spend in the mountains, I got the idea for some sort of a personal challenge. I knew I could manage one or two weeks, but what about a month?

I hiked in the Julian Alps (Slovenian part), spending most of the time in the Triglav National Park. My goal was to climb majority of the mountains around Lake Bohinj and the highest mountain of Slovenia – Triglav (2864 m) for the first time.

This photo was taken early in the morning at Hribarice. I was shooting towards the sun so I got beautiful silhouettes of young ibexes. Ibexes doesn’t scare easily that’s why it is easier to photograph them without having zoom lens.

Name of the photo: Silhouette of young ibexes at play
