This weeks inspiration comes from Photographer of the week Esa Heikkilä.

My name is Esa Heikkilä and I’m from from Oulu, Finland. I got into photography back in the early 90’s when spending a year as an exchange student in the USA but as a young man back then other interests took over. A couple of years ago I got back into photography more seriously.

I live by the sea and I love to go out in the nature and those elements are the foundation of my work. I would say I’m specialized in Fine Art photography with atmospheric and dreamy mood. I don’t want to limit myself to an specific category like seascapes or landscapes but I often find myself shooting also macro close-ups of flowers or flying birds with a tele-zoom. I love to explore and I try to think out of the box to create something out of the ordinary.

I picked up one of my favorite quotes in Bruce Barnbaum’s book The Art of Photography; “Don’t try to bring out what others expect or want; emphasize your point of view.”

See more of his work on his Website or drop in and say hello on his Facebook.
