Let Our People Grow by Pietro Milici
“Let Our People Grow” is an ongoing project and as such its idea lives constantly through change. The project aims to investigate the cannabis world, that began having a history in Spain 4 years ago, and a legal/social model that can not be equaled anywhere else in the world.
The project starts with a series of portraits of marijuana consumers, members of cannabis associations. They, the consumers, on their long and immense stage, are the most important part and the most affected by what is happening in the world of marijuana. Association, cultivators, seed banks or grow shops, would not exist without consumers.. And a vast cycle of money would not be produced. As of today, marijuana is the substance that generates the most illegal and legal income. Day after day consumer’s associations, the sale of cannabis material, and marijuana prisoners keep multiplying. All this in an unclear legislative stage.
Marihuana, in its most varied uses, may produce physical and mental changes but the growth of the plant itself may favor the lives of human beings. The growth of common sense, an objective common sense. Let’s let a plant be a plant and be treated as such. Let’s regularize its therapeutic and recreational use. Let’s adopt its eco-sustainable qualities. Let’s allow our people to grow cannabis, let’s let our people grow. Says Pietro Milici
